Get to Know Your Skin, Get to Know pH Balance
We're pretty sure many people get confused when choosing various products, whether it's soap, shampoo, facial cleanser, etc., and the label states “has a balanced pH.” So what exactly is pH? And why does it matter? Let's get to know pH balance...
First, we need to understand that our skin has a natural oil layer with an acid-alkaline value, abbreviated as pH, of about 5-5.5. This value acts like a shield protecting our skin from harm.

Skin with a pH of 5.5 indicates a keratin structure that is strong and tightly bound together, forming a barrier against pollution and bacteria, keeping the skin soft and hydrated for a long time.
Therefore, the right way to choose products is to select ones with a pH close to the skin's natural level of 5.5, to prevent the skin from losing its natural oils, because the lipids in this layer of skin act as an insulating barrier that locks in the skin's moisture, keeping our skin looking youthful.
